Privacy policy

This policy explains how CityPlanner (published by Rise Marketing Agency) collects, uses and protects your information when you use the website and the CityPlanner iOS app.

1. Data we collect

Location

With your permission, the app uses your position to suggest places and outings near you. Your position is sent to our servers when you ask for suggestions, so that we can search nearby places. We do not keep a history of your positions: we only keep the city linked to your outings and preferences.

Account

You can use the app as a guest. If you create an account (email address or Sign in with Apple), we store your account identifier, your email address and the name you choose with our hosting provider, Google Firebase.

Content and preferences

So that you can find them on all your devices, we store with Firebase the outings you save, your favourite places, your preferences (city, tastes), the number of outings composed this month and the city and date of each outing composed.

Community

If you publish an outing in the community, it becomes visible to other users with the name you choose. You can remove it from the app at any time.

Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple. RevenueCat, our subscription provider, receives your account identifier and your purchase history. We never see your payment details.

Usage statistics

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to measure how the app is used (screens viewed, outings opened, technical information about the device) and improve it. We do not use this data to identify you.

2. Cookies and consent

On your first visit to the website, a banner lets you accept or refuse audience measurement cookies. If you refuse, no third-party analytics tool (Google Analytics) is loaded. Only a cookie-free tool without personal data (Vercel Analytics) remains active. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.

3. Sharing with third parties

  • OpenAI: to write your outings. We send the city, your choices and the places, never your name or email address.
  • Google (Places): to find places, their opening hours and their photos.
  • Google Firebase: hosting of your account and of your content.
  • GetYourGuide: when you book an activity, you are redirected to GetYourGuide, which processes the booking under its own privacy policy.
  • Apple and RevenueCat: to process subscriptions securely.

We never sell your personal data.

4. Your rights

Under the GDPR and the CCPA, you can access your data, export it and delete it at any time. In the app, go to Profile, then “Export my data” or “Delete my account and data”. You can also withdraw location access in your iPhone settings, or write to us.

5. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No transmission over the Internet is, however, 100% secure.
